Jean Wightman, born Lola Imogene Grice February 1, 1932 in Kentwood, Louisiana, died in her home at 5:30 p.m. PT on March 25, 2017 in Puyallup, WA with her husband at her side. She owned/co-owned several businesses including A Signor’s Convenience, Paramount Tax Service, Jean’s Candles & Gifts, J & J Enterprises, & A Consignor's Convenience. She was an Executive Secretary at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport & All Clean Chem-Dry, a Medical Transcriptionist, Office Manager & Personal Assistant to Dr Steward of Louisiana. Jean is preceded in death by her parents Luther "Fritz" Grice & Allie Callihan Grice; siblings John "Mutt" Grice, Inez "Sis" Young, Leon Grice, Bessie "Jack" Strickland, Tena Birch & James Grice Sr.; nephews Walter "Bilbo" Young, Wayne Grice and niece Mary Blackard. Jean is survived by her husband Stephen Wightman, daughter & son-in-law Debra & Paul Carlsen, grandson & family Joshua, Susan, Hailey, Emmett & Declan Carlsen, grandson & wife Ian & Stephanie Carlsen, granddaughter Aly Carlsen; sister-in-law Katherine Grice; nephews & nieces, Jay Young, Milton Young, Linda & Emanuel Gagliano, Fritz Grice, Idell, Billy & Shelby Strickland, Luther Birch, Jay Grice Jr., Charles & Judy Grice, Teresa & Ronald Woodard, "Tiny" Grice, Dallas Grice, Jimmy Grice, & Rita Aron. A memorial service will be held in Puyallup, WA on April 10, 2017. A memorial service and interment in the New Zion Cemetery, Kentwood, LA will be scheduled at a later date.
