David Lanier, a resident of Amite, passed away at 2:35 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at his home. He was born October 3, 1934 in Amite and was 82 years of age. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Audrey Carrier Lanier; seven children, Dona Matherne and husband, Steve, Mona Zimmerman and husband, Bob, Libby Rick and husband, Danny, Andrew Lanier and wife, Cecilia, Duane Lanier and wife, Angela, Jody Lanier and wife, Marcine and Eric Lanier and wife, Toni Jean; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Rosie White Lanier; brothers and sisters, Wade Lanier, Markie Lanier, Joan Addison and Nancy Stell. Visitation was held at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017.
