A resident of Kentwood, Captain James L. "Jimmy" Pittman passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite. He was born January 6, 1952 in Independence and was 64 years of age. He was a Crew Boat Captain for Jade Marine of Belle Chase, LA for many decades. He is survived by his life partner, Becky P. Searcy; son, “Freddie” Pittman and wife, Stephanie; daughter, Amanda Pittman; eight grandchildren, Kelsey Pittman, Alexis Pittman, James Pittman, Jr., Coby Pittman, Keryn Pittman, Ragen Williams, Brayden Williams and Christen Pittman; two great grandchildren, Carson Martin and Adayln Martin; sisters and brothers, Marie Kimble and her husband, Milton, Roger Pittman and his wife, Lois, Janet Tigner and her husband, Bobby, JoEtta Miller and her husband, Terry, and sister-in-law, Lucy “Gayle” Clark Pittman. Preceded in death by his son, Christopher James Pittman; parents, Bertha Lou Gill Pittman and Bobby Ray Pittman, Sr. and brothers, “Chuck” Dudley Gregory Pittman, and Bobby Ray Pittman, Jr. Visitation was held at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, Sunday night and from 8 a.m. until religious services on Monday, June 27, 2016.
